İFÖD and EngelliWeb data were cited by CHP Eskişehir MP Utku Çakırözer during a parliamentary speech criticising provisions expanding access-blocking powers and digital identification.
Speaking on 22 April 2026 during the debate on Article 26 of the Bill Amending the Social Services Law and Certain Other Laws, Çakırözer argued that powers previously annulled by the Constitutional Court were being broadened and warned that the proposed framework would undermine freedom of expression, privacy and the right of access to information.
Çakırözer cited İFÖD’s finding that 1.5 million domain names and 270,000 news items and social media posts had been blocked over the previous decade.
