Diken reported on İFÖD’s EngelliWeb 2020 report, which found that 467,011 websites had been blocked by the end of 2020 through 408,808 decisions issued by 764 different authorities and judgeships.
The article noted that 58,809 domain names were blocked during 2020 and that the rate at which news content was removed rose to 81 per cent. EngelliWeb’s findings documented the continuing expansion of censorship measures under Law No. 5651.
