Diken reported, on the basis of current EngelliWeb data collected by İFÖD, that the number of websites and domain names blocked in Türkiye had exceeded one million in the first months of 2024.
The article stated that 1,043,312 websites and domain names had been blocked by March 2024 through 892,951 decisions issued by 833 different authorities and judgeships. The figures illustrated the scale reached by internet censorship in the absence of comprehensive official statistics.
