Diken reported on İFÖD’s EngelliWeb 2024 report, which found that 1,264,506 domain names and websites had been blocked by the end of 2024 through 1,078,348 decisions issued by 852 different authorities and judgeships.

The article stressed that public authorities do not publish comprehensive censorship figures and that EngelliWeb remains the main reference point in this field. It noted that restrictions targeting URLs, social media accounts and posts continued through different legal mechanisms despite the Constitutional Court’s annulment of Article 9 of Law No. 5651.
